\"\"Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday arrived in Japan for the G20 Summit during which he will attend several important meetings with world leaders, including US President Donald Trump. This will be Modi\u2019s first meeting with Donald Trump after his re-election for a second term.<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0G20 Summit is being held at Osaka on June 28 -29.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prime Minister Modi was welcomed by the Indian community in Japan’s Osaka. “Reached Osaka to join the #G20 Summit. Grateful to the dynamic Indian community for the warm welcome!” Modi tweeted.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEarly morning arrival in Osaka. The #G20 Summit, bilateral and multilateral interactions await PM @narendramodi in the coming two days. He will elaborate on many issues of global importance and present India\u2019s viewpoint,\u201d Prime Minister\u2019s Office said in a tweet.<\/span><\/p>\n

Before flying to Japan, Pm Modi said, \u201cI am visiting Osaka, Japan to attend G 20 Summit. I look forward to discussing the major challenges and opportunities faced by our world today with other global leaders.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWomen Empowerment, issues related to digitalization and artificial intelligence, and progress in achieving SDGs and in our common efforts to address major global challenges such as terrorism and climate change form the rich agenda of the Summit,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Modi further said, \u201cThe Summit will provide an important opportunity to reiterate and reinforce our strong support to reformed multilateralism, which is crucial for preserving rule-based international order in today\u2019s fast changing world. The Summit will also be a platform for sharing India\u2019s strong developmental experience of the last five years, which provided the basis for a resounding mandate by the people of India to the Government to continue on the path to progress and stability.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Osaka Summit will also be an important steppingstone for India towards hosting the G-20 Summit in 2022, when we usher in a New India in the 75th Anniversary year of our Independence,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOn the sidelines, I also look forward to engaging with leaders of our major partner countries on important issues of bilateral and global importance,\u201d Modi said.<\/span><\/p>\n
