During the interaction, Naidu made some suggestions to the minister with regard to the upcoming Budget. Among others, he stressed the need to take steps to protect agriculture and introduce structural changes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Naidu also suggested to the minister to undertake a review of the Import-Export Policy and protect the interests of the farming community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The Vice President wanted Sitharaman to continue with \u201cSpecial Assistance, Special Attention and Special Dispensation\u2019 to Andhra Pradesh.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The Former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had earlier announced a special financial package to the successor State.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">While appreciating that many assurances were fulfilled regarding the setting up of national institutions and sanctioning of new projects to Andhra Pradesh, Naidu stressed the need to provide a helping hand to the State.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday called on the Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu.
