{"id":313461,"date":"2019-06-19T15:41:43","date_gmt":"2019-06-19T15:41:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tehelka.com\/?p=313461"},"modified":"2019-06-19T15:41:43","modified_gmt":"2019-06-19T15:41:43","slug":"dr-harsh-vardhan-deploys-central-teams-of-pediatricians-and-paramedics-to-further-strengthen-management-of-aes-je-cases","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tehelka.com\/dr-harsh-vardhan-deploys-central-teams-of-pediatricians-and-paramedics-to-further-strengthen-management-of-aes-je-cases\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr Harsh Vardhan deploys Central teams of pediatricians and paramedics to further strengthen management of AES\/JE cases"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-312929 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/tehelka.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/dr-harsh-300x197.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"490\" height=\"322\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tehelka.com\/media\/2019\/06\/dr-harsh-300x197.jpg 300w, https:\/\/tehelka.com\/media\/2019\/06\/dr-harsh.jpg 531w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 490px) 100vw, 490px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Subsequent to the high-level review of AES\/JE in Bihar\u2019s Muzaffarpur, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has been regularly reviewing the support being provided to the State for its management.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">He chaired a review meeting to take a stock of the ongoing public health measures for management of the cases, on Wednesday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">In the meeting, Dr Harsh Vardhan has directed for five teams of senior pediatricians and paramedics to be sent to Muzaffarpur immediately to further strengthen the state efforts and measures in the affected districts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Ten pediatricians (including five senior consultants) and five para-medics from RML Hospital, Safdarjung and Lady Hardinge Medical College will be part of the five teams.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cThe teams will strengthen the clinical care to the existing patients in the hospitals and also strengthen surveillance of cases from the peripheral areas,\u201d Dr Harsh Vardhan stated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cA high-level central team led by Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary, MoHFW has been permanently stationed in the area to monitor the operations since the past three days. Teams have also been constituted for socio-economic survey in these areas to identify and pinpoint causes linked with the economic status\u201d, the Union Health Minister stated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Furthermore, ten additional ambulances have been put into action in the most affected blocks of the districts for round the clock services. Also, 16 nodal officers (teams of senior doctors and an administrative officer) have been deployed at the PHCs in the affected blocks.
