Most of the officials named are senior, with the rank of commissioners and above.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cIn exercise of the powers conferred by clause (j) of rule 56 of the Fundamental Rules, the President of India has retired 15 Officers of Indian Revenue Service (C&amp;CE) in public interest with immediate effect on completing 50 years of age,\u201d Ministry of Finance said in a tweet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cAll these 15 Officers shall be paid a sum equivalent to the amount of pay &amp; allowances for a period of 3 months calculated at the same rate at which they were supposed to be withdrawing them (pay &amp; allowances) immediately before their retirement,\u201d it added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">This is the second time that the Centre has taken such a decision.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">On June 10, twelve senior government officials including Principal Commissioners, Chief Commissioner and Commissioner of Income Tax Department were directed by the Finance Ministry to compulsorily retire under Rule 56 (j) of the General Financial Rules (GFRs), over allegations of misconduct such as fraud, bribery, extortion and sexual harassment.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The government on Tuesday compulsory retired fifteen of its senior officials, accused of corruption charges.
