{"id":313360,"date":"2019-06-16T05:20:23","date_gmt":"2019-06-16T05:20:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tehelka.com\/?p=313360"},"modified":"2019-06-16T05:20:23","modified_gmt":"2019-06-16T05:20:23","slug":"dr-harsh-vardhan-to-review-public-health-measures-for-containment-and-management-of-aes-je-cases-in-bihar-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tehelka.com\/dr-harsh-vardhan-to-review-public-health-measures-for-containment-and-management-of-aes-je-cases-in-bihar-today\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr Harsh Vardhan to review public health measures for containment and management of AES\/JE cases in Bihar today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-313169 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/tehelka.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Dr-harsh-1-300x197.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"492\" height=\"323\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tehelka.com\/media\/2019\/06\/Dr-harsh-1-300x197.jpg 300w, https:\/\/tehelka.com\/media\/2019\/06\/Dr-harsh-1.jpg 520w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 492px) 100vw, 492px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan shall be going to Muzaffarpur on Sunday to take stock and review the situation at the site with the State Government.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">During his visit, the Union Health Minister will interact with the multi-disciplinary teams deployed there and address the state level review meeting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cI shall discuss the management measures being recommended by the high-level expert team of the Centre, and support that can be extended through National Health Mission (NHM) for health systems strengthening, and other Ministries of the Central government including the Ministry of Women and Child Development as part of the immediate and long term measures\u201d, he stated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Dr Harsh Vardhan further stated that the Health Ministry is constantly monitoring the situation and supporting the State health authorities in managing the Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) and Japanese Encephalitis (JE) cases.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cThe continued round-the-clock presence of the Central and State Teams in the affected areas and preventive actions taken by them have instilled confidence among the public. We will soon be able to contain the rise in AES\/JE cases\u201d, Dr Harsh Vardhan added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Elaborating on the support being extended to the State of Bihar, Dr Harsh Vardhan said, \u201cA multi- disciplinary specialist high-level team has been deployed by the Health Ministry.
