text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The Supreme Court on Wednesday said it will get to the bottom of the claims made by a lawyer that there was a larger conspiracy to frame Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi in the sexual harassment allegations against him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cIf fixers continue to work and manipulate the judiciary as claimed, neither this institution nor any of us will survive,\u201d said a three-judge bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cWe will inquire and inquire and take it to logical conclusion,\u201d the bench said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The bench, also comprising justices R F Nariman and Deepak Gupta asked lawyer Utsav Bains to file another affidavit after he claimed to have more incriminating evidence about the larger conspiracy against CJI.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">CJI Ranjan Gogoi has strongly denied the allegations, asserting that the independence of the judiciary is &#8220;under threat&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Earlier in the day, the top court directed chiefs of the Intelligence Bureau (IB), the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Delhi Police Commissioner to appear and meet in chambers of the three judges who are hearing Bains\u2019 claim that there was a larger conspiracy to frame the CJI.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;
