The revenge thriller was earlier released in 39 regions around the world including Poland, Czech Republic, Russia, UAE, UK, USA, and Singapore. <\/span><\/p>\n

Sridevi passed away, aged 54, due to accidental drowning in a Dubai hotel on February 24, 2018. Her sudden death left family, friends and thousands of fans in a state of shock. \u201cMy heart will always be heavy. But I\u2019ll always be smiling because it has you in it,\u201d her daughter and actor Janhvi Kapoor wrote on Instagram, alongside a picture of her sitting in her mother\u2019s lap holding hands. <\/span><\/p>\n

Sridevi\u2019s sister-in-law designer Maheep Kapoor meanwhile shared a series of pictures with the actor on Instagram and wrote, \u201cWill always remember the good times.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

In an impressive career, spanning five decades, Sridevi dominated the commercial space in cinema in the \u201880s and \u201890s. She reversed the trend of the male-dominated film industry by her acting prowess. Her name guaranteed a film\u2019s success. <\/span><\/p>\n

She started acting at the age of four and made her debut in 1969 with M A Thirumugham\u2019s Tamil film \u201cThunaivan\u201d. She continued working in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada movies but became a national film icon courtesy her Bollywood films. <\/span><\/p>\n

Sridevi made her Hindi film debut as a child artiste in 1975 hit \u201cJulie\u201d and continued ruling the South Indian film industry where she established herself as a leading heroine with films such as \u201c16 Vayathinile\u201d, \u201cSigappu Rojakkal\u201d, \u201cMeendum Kokila\u201d and \u201cMoondram Pirai\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n

In Bollywood, she made her debut as a lead actor in 1978\u2019s \u201cSolva Sawan\u201d and followed it up with a number of commercial hits such as \u201cHimmatwala\u201d, \u201cMawaali\u201d, \u201cTohfa\u201d, \u201cMr India\u201d, \u201cChandni\u201d, \u201cLamhe\u201d, \u201cNagina\u201d and \u201cKhuda Gawah\u201d among several others. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMr India\u201d director Shekhar Kapur said he still finds it difficult to come to terms with Sridevi\u2019s sudden demise. \u201cStill can\u2019t get over that this bundle of life, of energy, of love, left us when she has so much much more to give,\u201d he wrote. <\/span><\/p>\n

Sridevi took a break from acting after 1997 film \u201cJudaai\u201d to focus on her marriage with producer Boney Kapoor and daughters Janhvi and Khushi. She made a successful comeback 15 years later with Gauri Shinde\u2019s \u201cEnglish Vinglish\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n

The actor also had a starring role in 2015 Tamil film\u201cPuli\u201d and followed \u201cEnglish Vinglish\u201d with another successful outing 2018\u2019s \u201cMom\u201d, which was her last film. She also won a National Award posthumously for her performance in the movie. Shinde remembered Sridevi as the \u201cbiggest talent\u201d on earth. \u201cI miss her laughter, miss her saying my name \u2018Gauuuurrri\u2019 only she said it in this unique way. I miss her calls, our dinners, her warm hug. (I) Miss the biggest talent that there was on this earth,\u201d the director told PTI. <\/span><\/p>\n

Veteran actor Shabana Azmi took to Twitter and wrote, \u201cA year already. #Sridevi. You will live on through your work.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also remembered the actor. \u201cFondly remembering Sridevi, legendary actress, on her death anniversary. She is gone too soon,\u201d Banerjee wrote on Twitter. <\/span><\/p>\n

Choreographer-turned filmmaker Farah Khan said Sridevi has been her source of motivation from the beginning of her career. \u201cShe was so supportive, so encouraging, getting to choreograph a Sridevi show or a song for her was like a dream. No wonder I never got awed or starstruck with any other star in my entire career because I started from the TOP! There never was and never will be anyone like SRIDEVI… Love her always,\u201d she wrote alongside a picture from a early \u201890s world tour with the actor. <\/span><\/p>\n

In her Instagram Story, Shilpa Shetty shared a picture with Sridevi and wrote, \u201cYou are in our thoughts. RIP.<\/span><\/p>\n
