SC, however, said that no coercive steps including arrest shall be taken against Kumar.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Arguing on behalf of the CBI, attorney general KK Venugopal alleged destruction of evidence in Saradha chit fund scam case.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">On Sunday evening a team of CBI reached Kolkata police commissioner Rajeev Kumar\u2019s residence to \u2018examine\u2019 him but was detained by Kolkata police officers. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The CBI had approached the Supreme court on Monday alleging that Kumar may &#8220;destroy electronic evidence&#8221; and should be directed to make himself available for investigation.&#8217;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi on Monday said: \u201cIf Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar even remotely thinks of destroying evidence, bring the material before this Court.
