If there is an iota of non-cooperation, will come down heavily,\u201d CJI Ranjan Gogoi told Karti Chidambaram.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The apex court asked Karti to appear before the Enforcement Directorate on March 5, 6, 7 and 12 for questioning in connection with his role in the Aircel-Maxis deal and the INX Media case.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The bench said, \u201cPlease tell your client that he will have to cooperate. You have not cooperated. We wanted to say a lot of things. We are not saying them right now.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The bench also asked him to file an undertaking that he would return and cooperate with the investigation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Karti has been facing criminal cases being investigated by the ED and the CBI, including the one relating to Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) clearance to INX Media for receiving foreign funds when his father was the finance minister.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed former defence minister P Chidambaram\u2019s son Karti Chidambaram to travel abroad after depositing Rs 10 crore with its registry. \u201cYou can go wherever you want to, you can do whatever you want, but don\u2019t play around the law.
