The case was handed over to CBI in 2006.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The CBI Special Court in August 2017 sentenced Ram Rahim to 20-year rigorous imprisonment for raping two of his followers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">His conviction had triggered riots in Panchkula that left over 30 people dead.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A special CBI court in Panchkula on Friday convicted Jailed self-styled godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim and three others in a case pertaining to the murder of journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati.
