Many water bodies including Dal lake have partially frozen.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Last time, Srinagar experienced the coldest night was\u00a0 on December 7, 1990 when temperature dived to minus 8.8 degree Celsius.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The state&#8217;s meteorological office sees further drop in the temperature in the days to come. However,\u00a0 there is no forecast of immediate snowfall.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The Valley received its first snowfall in the first week of November. Ever since, the weather has largely remained dry which, in turn, has added to the cold.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Chillai Kalan, the Valley&#8217;s harshest 40 day winter period began on December 21.
