Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia announced the initiative on December 12 and sought suggestions from teachers and principals of government as well as private schools in the national capital to prepare the &#8216;cleanliness curriculum&#8217;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u201cWe will develop a curriculum to inculcate habits of cleanliness and hygiene among students,\u201d said Deputy CM Sisodia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The Deputy CM further added, \u201cThe cleanliness curriculum will be an activity-based curriculum. There won\u2019t be a book or a separate period allocated for it. I have asked for suggestions from teachers and principals about the activities that can be included in the curriculum.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">He further added, \u201cStudents contribute to garbage in schools, but they have no role in maintaining cleanliness. We want students to develop such habits and take responsibility for cleanliness in schools.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cIn other countries, students are responsible for mopping classes, dusting desks and watering plants.
