font-size: 14pt;\">The Union minister of Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar on Wednesday said, \u201cthe school syllabus is proposed to be reduced by half to provide enough time to students to develop their talents.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">While addressing the gathering at the inauguration ceremony of fourth \u2018Kala Utsav (Festival of Arts)\u2019 at colourful function at the National Bal Bhavan in New Delhi, he said, &#8216;Present day students are bogged down so much in studies right from eighth standard onwards that they have no time to spare for manifesting and nurturing their talents.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">He further said, \u201c26 crore students in schools and another four crores in colleges are our assets and they are the future.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The Minister also said that teachers have a big responsibility of identifying and nurturing the talents in the students and encouraging them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Speaking on the occasion, Professor Hrushikesh Senapaty, the Director of National Council of Educational Research and Training said that that the Kala Utsav National Competition is a unique initiative to show case the artistic talents of school students at the national level.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">More than 370 children of all states (except Karnataka) and Union Territories are participating in the four-day event.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;
