{"id":306900,"date":"2018-12-12T05:27:34","date_gmt":"2018-12-12T05:27:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tehelka.com\/?p=306900"},"modified":"2018-12-12T05:27:34","modified_gmt":"2018-12-12T05:27:34","slug":"pm-narendra-modi-to-inaugurate-partners-forum-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tehelka.com\/pm-narendra-modi-to-inaugurate-partners-forum-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"PM Narendra Modi to inaugurate Partners\u2019 Forum 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-300919 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/tehelka.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/narendra-modi-pm-300x239.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"429\" height=\"342\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tehelka.com\/media\/2018\/07\/narendra-modi-pm-300x239.jpg 300w, https:\/\/tehelka.com\/media\/2018\/07\/narendra-modi-pm-528x420.jpg 528w, https:\/\/tehelka.com\/media\/2018\/07\/narendra-modi-pm.jpg 655w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 429px) 100vw, 429px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the fourth Partners\u2019 Forum in New Delhi on Wednesday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The objective of the conference is to improve knowledge, alignment and accountability to accelerate action on women&#8217;s, children&#8217;s and adolescents&#8217; health.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The Government of India, in association with the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (PMNCH), is hosting a two-day international conference on 12 and 13 December 2018, bringing together about 1500 participants from across 85 countries to improve the health and well-being of women, children and adolescents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The Partners\u2019 Forum is a global health partnership launched in September 2005 to accelerate efforts to reduce child and maternal mortality, improve adolescent, child, newborn and maternal health.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">This is the second time India is hosting the Partners\u2019 Forum.\u00a0 Earlier it was held in Tanzania in 2007, India in 2010 and South Africa in 2014.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The programme has been framed around the objectives of the Global Strategy of Survive &#8211; Thrive &#8211; Transform. The programme will include four high-level plenaries that will focus on political leadership, multi-sectoral action, accountability and power of partnership.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The forum will also present and explore the findings of the 12 Success Factors case studies that showcase how countries are collaborating across sectors to improve women\u2019s, children\u2019s and adolescents\u2019 health.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the fourth Partners\u2019 Forum in New Delhi on Wednesday.
