I want to stop the narrative that I stole money.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cI did not borrow a single rupee. The borrower was Kingfisher Airlines. The money was lost due to a genuine and sad business failure. Being held as guarantor is not fraud,\u201d Mallya tweeted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Mallya contested that the extradition case against him is \u201cpolitically motivated\u201d and the loans he has been accused of defrauding on were sought to keep his now-defunct airline afloat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">When asked about the extradition case against him, Mallya reportedly said, \u201cPolitically motivated lack of fair trial and the ability of politicians to create numerous new allegations that provide for pretrial detention.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Westminster Magistrate Court of the United Kingdom (UK)\u00a0 on Monday ordered Fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya extradition to India to face fraud investigations.
