The Sydney flash floods also hit the electricity supply with power cuts being reported from several parts of the harbour city.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Many people called for emergency assistance within two hours of the storms and rains that lashed nearby regions, causing floods on Wednesday morning, Met said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">With Wednesday\u2019s downpour already equalling rainfall of the monthly average, authorities have urged people to stay safe ahead of more forecast storms later in the day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">As per the Australia\u2019s Bureau of Meteorology, this has been the region\u2019s wettest November day since 1984. \u201cThe intensity of that rainfall was phenomenal \u2014 91mm fell in 90 minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Reports said, at least dozen people were rescued from vehicles trapped in floods, while one man died in a car accident.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Sydney Airport has repeatedly closed one of its runways during the morning as it tries to operate amid strong winds and 45mm of rain.
