Saini however, extended till December 18 the interim protection granted to former union minister and his son Karti from arrest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The CBI said it needed two weeks to get sanction against other accused in the case.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The CBI and the ED are probing how Karti Chidambaram allegedly managed to get the Foreign Investment Promotion Board approval in the Aircel-Maxis deal in 2006 when Chidambaram was the Union Finance Minister.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Chidambaram reportedly approved the foreign investment proposal of Global Communication and Services Holdings Ltd worth Rs 3560 crore approximately.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The CBI on November 26\u00a0has\u00a0informed the Patiala House Court that it has procured the requisite sanction from the concerned authority to prosecute former Union Minister P Chidambaram in the Aircel-Maxis deal case.
