Kannada actor-turned-politician Ambareesh passed away in a private hospital in Bengaluru on Saturday following a heart attack. He was 66.<\/span><\/p>\n

The authorities from hospital have confirmed that Ambareesh died of a cardiac arrest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Thousands of fans, as well as politicians and officials, rushed to the hospital after the demise of Ambareesh.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the sources, heavy security has been deployed outside the hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Ambareesh will always be remembered for his memorable performances as an actor and extensive contribution to politics.<\/span><\/p>\n

In consultation with the family, I have instructed to make arrangements for the public and fans to pay last respects to the departed leader at Kanteerava Stadium.\u201d Said Kumaraswamy<\/span><\/p>\n

Ambareesh had served as the Minister of State (MoS), in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, from 2006 to 2008 under the Manmohan Singh-led government.<\/span><\/p>\n

Karnataka Congress Pradesh Committee (KPCC) chief Dinesh Gundu Rao expressed grief on the demise of Ambareesh. \u201cShocked to hear the news of our beloved politician and rebel star #Ambarish\u2019s demise.
