{"id":305836,"date":"2018-11-20T07:02:18","date_gmt":"2018-11-20T07:02:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tehelka.com\/?p=305836"},"modified":"2018-11-20T07:02:18","modified_gmt":"2018-11-20T07:02:18","slug":"supreme-court-furious-over-leak-in-cbi-case-adjourns-plea-till-nov-29","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tehelka.com\/supreme-court-furious-over-leak-in-cbi-case-adjourns-plea-till-nov-29\/","title":{"rendered":"Supreme Court Furious over &#8216;Leak&#8217; in CBI Case, adjourns plea till Nov 29"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-299371 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/tehelka.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Supreme-Court-1-300x175.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"410\" height=\"239\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tehelka.com\/media\/2018\/06\/Supreme-Court-1-300x175.jpg 300w, https:\/\/tehelka.com\/media\/2018\/06\/Supreme-Court-1.jpg 636w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 410px) 100vw, 410px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The Supreme Court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing on ousted Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) director Alok Verma&#8217;s petition in a matter of minutes, after the leak of Alok Verma\u2019s confidential response to a CVC report on corruption charges against him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The Supreme Court said none of the parties involved deserves a hearing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">We don&#8217;t think none of you deserves a hearing,\u201d said CJI Gogoi said, irked over the leak of CBI director Alok Verma\u2019s confidential response to media.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The court adjourned the hearing in the matter to November 29.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Alok Verma had submitted his response to the vigilance report on Monday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">In the last hearing on November 16, the Supreme Court said the vigilance probe against ousted CBI director Alok Verma had given \u201cmixed\u201d findings and indicated that some charges need to be investigated further.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">It said, \u201csome findings were \u201ccomplimentary\u201d and some \u201cvery uncomplimentary\u201d, needing further investigation by the panel.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The Centre had sent Alok Verma and his deputy, special director Rakesh Asthana on leave and divested them of all powers following a feud between them over corruption allegations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Supreme Court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing on ousted Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) director Alok Verma&#8217;s petition in a matter of minutes, after the leak of Alok Verma\u2019s confidential response to a CVC report on corruption charges against him.
