Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) Chairman Mukesh Ambani said on Monday that his company will invest an additional\u00a0\u20b93000 crore through its \u201cnew businesses\u201d in Odisha over the next three years.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cReliance has already invested over 6,000 crores in Odisha and I am committing to investing an additional 3,000 crore in the next three years in our various businesses in Odisha,\u201d Ambani said at the Make in Odisha Conclave 2018 organised in Bhubaneswar.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said they are also working on creating the world’s largest online-to-offline new commerce platform which will create ease of doing business and also create employment opportunities in the state.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ambani said, “We have created sustained new employment opportunities, both direct and indirect to over 30,000 people in the state.”<\/span><\/p>\n

He added that its telecom arm Jio is leading India’s digital transformation. “Since Jio commenced operations little over two years ago, India has moved from 155th rank in mobile broadband penetration to be the number one nation in mobile data consumption in the world.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Ambani said that Jio has already connected all cities and towns, and around 43 thousand villages in Odisha.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said that RIL is working with Odisha Government on an initiative to integrate several lakh women in the digital mainstream under the “Mission Shakti” Scheme.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said that Reliance is partnering with the State Government of Odisha to set up the \u201cReliance Foundation – Odisha High Performance Athletics Centre” to train local talent.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
