The Shiromnai Akali Dal (SAD) on Sunday expelled its member of parliament (MP) Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, his son Ravinder Brahmpura, former MP Rattan Singh Ajnala and his son Bonny Ajnala from the party.<\/span><\/p>\n

The decision to expel MPs was taken in the core committee meeting of party.<\/span><\/p>\n

As the two leaders were indulging in “anti-party activities”, the core committee of the Akali Dal took the decision to expel them, SAD senior leader Harcharan Bains said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Brahmpura, MP from Khadoor Sahib, had resigned last month as the party\u2019s senior vice-president and core committee member, citing \u201cage and deteriorating health\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

He had confessed that he was not happy with the pardon to Sirsa dera chief in a blasphemy case and the Bargari sacrilege incidents.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ajnala had represented the Khadoor Sahib constituency before Brahmpura.<\/span><\/p>\n

Akali Dal had recently expelled another senior leader Sewa Singh Sekhwan from the primary membership of the party shortly after he had announced his resignation as senior vice-president and core committee member.<\/span><\/p>\n

Brahmpura had accused Sukhbir Badal and his brother-in-law Bikram Singh Majithia for “hijacking” the Akali Dal.<\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, he alleged the two leaders of running mafia and managing pardon for dera chief and Bargari killings.<\/span><\/p>\n

Brahmpura, Ajnala and Sewa Singh Sekhwan had virtually raised a banner of revolt saying, “all was not well within the party”, a day after veteran leader Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa had resigned on September 30.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
