The accusations date back to the time when Akbar was in the media and held senior editorial positions at newspapers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Later, several other journalists came out with similar allegations against the minister.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Akbar on Sunday rejected allegations of\u00a0sexual\u00a0misconduct\u00a0against him during his journalistic career and said the acquisitions against him are \u201cfabricated\u201d and \u201cspiced up\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cThese baseless, false and wild allegations have caused irreparable damage to my reputation and goodwill,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Union Minister MJ Akbar on Monday filed a criminal defamation case in Delhi&#8217;s Patiala House Court against journalist Priya Ramani through his advocates.
