The witnesses are allegedly being tutored. We want a thorough CBI investigation into the case.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">During the argument, various annexures were submitted by Ankur Sharma pointing out infirmities in the charge sheet filed by the crime branch in the case.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Charge sheet has been filed against seven accused persons and a separate charge sheet against a juvenile in the case.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The two-judge SC bench, comprising of Judge Uday Umesh Lalit and Justice D. Y. Chandrachud, dismissed the petition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The apex court said, &#8220;There is no merit in the petition.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The incident took place between January 10 to 17, 2018, when the victim was allegedly being raped and murdered.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Supreme Court on October 5 dismissed a petition filed by one of the accused in the alleged Kathua rape and murder case, seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation.
