He was 92.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">\n<span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">According to the family sources, Dutt\u2019s condition deteriorated due to a lung infection and could not recover anymore. He died at his south Kolkata residence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Dutt is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">He began his career in cricket administration as CAB secretary in 1977 and became president in 1982.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Dutt played a crucial role behind the rise of\u00a0Jagmohan Dalmiya\u00a0in Indian cricket.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Dutt was BCCI President from 1988 to 1990.
