This initiated a political war between the two brothers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Alagiri was in 2014, expelled from the party by Karunanidhi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Stalin\u2019s journey in politics started with campaigning along with his father at the early age of 14. In 1984, he became the party\u2019s youth \u2013 wing secretary and became\u00a0party deputy general secretary in 2003.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Congress President Rahul Gandhi took to his twitter account and congratulated Stalin on being elected President of DMK.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cCongratulations to Shri M K Stalin on being elected President of the DMK.
