This is the third incident targeting the minority Sikh community in the country in past three weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Singh was discovered dead by his cousin on August 16 in his store with an apparent stab wound in the chest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">According to media reports, the Essex County Prosecutor&#8217;s office is calling the incident a homicide.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The motive behind the killing was not immediately known.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Singh is survived by his wife and children who live in India. He owned the store to support his family.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">A Sikh community member tweets about this tragic killing incident, \u201cthis is the third attack on a Sikh in the last three weeks. So tired of all this sadness.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">According to a news report, Singh ran his store for at least six years and a neighbor said he should not have had to worry about being attacked in his workplace.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">In a similar incident on August 6 California, 71-year-old Sahib Singh was\u00a0brutally attacked by Tyrone McAllister and a juvenile when the elderly man went on a morning walk.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In another incident of attack on minorities, a Sikh man named Terlok Singh has been stabbed to death at his store in the US state of New Jersey.
