However, US Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said no decision has been taken on the matter yet.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">&#8220;I know that the invitation has been extended, but I do not believe that a final decision has been made,&#8221; Sarah Sanders, the White House Press Secretary, said when asked about reports that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited President Trump to be the Chief Guest at the next year&#8217;s Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">During a press briefing, Sanders also confirmed that US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and US Secretary of Defense James N. Mattis would be visiting India next month for 2+2 dialogue and will also discuss the process of a presidential visit next year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">&#8220;The 2+2 dialogue would begin discussion on the process of a presidential visit next year,&#8221; she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">She further added, &#8220;The United States and India have a deep and strategic partnership and we are going to continue to build on that partnership and advance co-operation.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>India extended an invitation to United States President Donald Trump to be the special guest on the Republic Day 2019.
