{"id":300188,"date":"2018-07-09T05:31:26","date_gmt":"2018-07-09T05:31:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tehelka.com\/?p=300188"},"modified":"2018-07-09T05:31:26","modified_gmt":"2018-07-09T05:31:26","slug":"another-drug-related-death-in-punjab-moga-man-succumbs-at-pgi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tehelka.com\/another-drug-related-death-in-punjab-moga-man-succumbs-at-pgi\/","title":{"rendered":"Another drug related death in Punjab: Moga man succumbs at PGI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">In another drug related death in Punjab, Charan Singh, a 24 year old youth of Burj Hamira village in Moga district, died at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh on Saturday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Charan, son of an ex-Army man and a reputed kabaddi player of the area, was a drug addict.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">According to his father Darshan Singh, Charan got into the company of drug addicts while playing kabaddi. \u201cWe got him admitted to a drug de-addiction centre at Ganganagar in Rajasthan about 6 months ago and few days back we got him back,\u201d Darshan Singh added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">After coming back from de-addiction centre, Charan accompanied his village friends for outings but his health became adverse and he started vomiting, a family member said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Post this Charan was rushed to Bathinda Hospital from there he was referred to DMC Hospital in Ludhiana. Later he was taken to PGI Chandigarh where he died on Saturday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Meanwhile post mortem have been conducted by the police officers.
