In yet another woman molestation case, a 26-year old woman passenger was stripped and molested by the Ola cab driver on June 1. The woman booked the cab for Bengaluru airport around\u00a02 am<\/span>\u00a0to catch an early morning flight. Arun, the driver of the cab, took her to an isolated place near Kothanur and molested her. <\/span><\/p>\n

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the woman, a native of Bengaluru who worked as an architect here, had booked the cab on June 1 night and left for the airport. However, the driver diverted the car to a secluded place. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI knew that no one will come for her help as it was an isolated place and she was panicking as all the doors were locked. There is no chance to raise an alarm as I already snatched her mobile phone before molesting her,\u201d Arun said in a police statement.<\/span><\/p>\n

The victim has filed a complaint by sending an email to the city police commissioner after reaching Mumbai<\/span><\/p>\n

The complaint reads:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0I had booked a cab from Kodihalli near Indiranagar to reach Airport. Around\u00a02.30 am<\/span>, the driver took the Kothanur road to reach the airport. But he suddenly stopped the car on the way as I was alone and centrally locked the doors before reaching an isolated place. He started sexually harassing and threatening me not to scream. He also held my neck saying that he would call his friends to rape me if she tried to escape or raise an alarm.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

He then allegedly snatched my mobile phone and then stripped me, clicked photos of mine with my mobile phone and later shared the photos via WhatsApp to him. He blackmailed me on the context of uploading the photos online if I revealed the incident to anyone.<\/span><\/p>\n

The cab company while expressing deep regret over the incident said:<\/span><\/p>\n

“We regret the unfortunate experience the customer had during the ride. We have zero tolerance for such incidents and the driver has been blacklisted from the platform as an immediate action upon receiving the complaint.\u201d<\/p>\n

“Safety of our customers is our top priority and we are extending our full support to the police authorities in their investigation,” the spokesperson said.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
