Targetting the government over the state of the economy, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said, “distractions through media won’t help the poor”.
He further said, “the threat about which he had been warning for months has now been confirmed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) as well”.
“RBI has now confirmed what I have been warning for months. Govt needs to: Spend more, not lend more. Give money to the poor, not tax cuts to industrialists. Restart economy by consumption. Distractions through media won’t help the poor or make the economic disaster disappear,” Rahul tweeted.
Rahul has been attacking the government over a number of issues, including the handling of the coronavirus pandemic, which has badly affected the national economy.
