Ram Mandir Introduces New Rules for Donations, Banking and Security

Ayodhya: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has introduced a series of new rules governing donation management, banking procedures and security at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya following the recent controversy over the alleged misappropriation of devotees’ donations. The measures are aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability and financial oversight within the temple administration.

Under the revised system, all cash collected from donation boxes will now be deposited into bank accounts on the same day through a stricter monitoring mechanism. The Trust has also introduced enhanced documentation and verification procedures for handling cash, while limiting access to donation counting areas to authorised personnel only. Every stage of the process will be subject to tighter supervision and record-keeping.

The Trust has significantly tightened security around the donation counting process. CCTV surveillance has been strengthened, staff movement in sensitive areas will be closely monitored and stricter protocols have been put in place for transporting and depositing donations. The new guidelines are intended to prevent any recurrence of financial irregularities.

The changes come after a Special Investigation Team (SIT) uncovered alleged lapses in the handling of temple donations, leading to the arrest of several individuals accused of siphoning off cash meant for the temple. The controversy prompted the Trust to initiate administrative reforms and restructure parts of its management.

Temple authorities said the revised protocols are designed to safeguard devotees’ offerings while ensuring complete transparency in financial transactions. The Trust reiterated its commitment to maintaining the sanctity of the Ram Mandir and restoring public confidence in the donation management system.
