Rajya Sabha on Sunday passed the Farmers’ and Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020 and Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020, amid protest by Opposition MPs.
The bill was passed with a Voice vote in Rajya Sabha. Both of these bills were also passed by the Lok Sabha with a voice vote a couple of days back.
Earlier the house was adjourned for a brief time after uproar and ruckus created by opposition MPS against the bills.
The opposition members created ruckus when Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar was replying to a query raised by the member of the house.
TMC MP Derek O’Brien entered the well of the House and showed the rule book to Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh, whereas other Opposition MPs entered the well of the House and raised slogans
