Rahul Gandhi in an open letter urges Amethi to vote for him

In a letter addressed to “Mera Amethi parivar (my Amethi family) Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday urged the people of parliamentary constituency in Uttar Pradesh to vote for him and promised to push schemes for the region that were stalled by the BJP.

Rahul said, “My Amethi family gives me the courage to stand with the truth, hear the pain of weak and raise their voices. It gives me the courage to take an oath for justice to all.”

“It is my promise to Amethi people that the moment the Congress comes to power at the centre, the schemes blocked by the BJP will be started soonest. On May 6, vote in large numbers to bring back this member of the family,” Rahul added.

Rahul accused the BJP of spreading falsehood and expressed that Amethi’s strength was its “honesty, integrity and simplicity”.

Rahul in his letter talked about two ideologies in the country – the Congress’s that works for farmers, youth, the weak, women and small traders and that of the BJP which wants to work for 15-20 industrialists.

“In the Congress system – the people rule and in the BJP’s system – Anil Ambani is the boss,” Rahul wrote.

“With your love, I have tried to unite the country from north to south; east to west,” Rahul said.
