Rahul Gandhi addresses gathering in Berlin, slams Modi Government

Congress president Rahul Gandhi, who is on a four-day tour to Europe, addressed a gathering at  Bucerius Summer School in Hamburg, Germany on Wednesday.

Rahul in his address focused on employment issues in India, mob lynching, Women safety, Issues of Dalits and Poverty. He said India is facing a big problem but Prime Minister Narendra Modi refuses to admit it.

“The guaranteed employment scheme, right to food, right to information, bank nationalization was some of the ideas that all governments held through. Now, these ideas are damaged to a great extent”, Congress President said.

Citing an example of Islamic State terrorist group, Rahul said, that the exclusion of a large number of people from the development process could lead to the creation of insurgent groups like ISIS anywhere in the world.

Rahul said, all the money that used to go into schemes for the poor, the Dalits, minorities, and tribals, are now going to a few large corporates.

“If you don’t give people a vision in the 21st century, somebody else will. And that’s the real risk of excluding a large number of people from the development process,” he said.

Rahul on Thursday will address a public meeting organized by the Indian Overseas Congress in Berlin. “I began my 2-day visit to Germany with a speech at the Bucerius Summer School in Hamburg, yesterday. Today, I am in Berlin to meet members of the German Bundestag, NGO’s & Business Leaders. I will also be addressing a public meeting organised by the Indian Overseas Congress,” Rahul Gandhi tweeted.
