A 52-year old officer of Punjab Police posted in Ludhiana has tested positive for coronavirus.
The officer has been hospitalised after testing positive.
KBS Sidhu, Special Chief Secy, Punjab in a tweet confirmed the news.
“52-year old Gazetted Officer of Punjab Police, posted in Ludhiana, tests positive. He had been unwell for the past week and has been put on ventilator. SOP is being followed,” he tweeted.
So far, Punjab has reported 151 COVID-19 cases with 11 fatalities, Health Ministry said.
Punjab government has already extended the nation -wide lockdown till May 1 amid increase in COVID-19 cases.
