Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Thursday decided not to open multiplexes and cinema halls in the state. However, the government has allowed Ramlila events with certain conditions pertaining to COVID-19 pandemic.
The information was shared by CM’s media advisor Raveen Thukral.
The chief minister will chair a coronavirus review meeting and thereafter a detailed order will be announced.
“@capt_amarinder led Punjab government decides not to open Multiplexes, Cinema Halls and Entertainment Parks in the state yet. However, Ramlilas to be allowed with strict Covid protocols. Details to be announced after Covid review meeting by CM,” Raveen Thukral tweeted.
The Punjab government has allowed schools to reopen. However, the date of reopening will be announced after the Standard Operating Procedures are announced.
The Centre has allowed cinema halls and multiplexes to reopen across the country with up to 50 per cent seating capacity from October 15 in areas outside the Containment zones.
