Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake his two-day visit to Uttarakhand beginning from today. While Modi will offer prayers in Kedarnath on Saturday, he will visit Badrinath on Sunday before returning to Delhi in the afternoon.
PM Modi’s visit to Uttarakhand comes a day after campaigning for the general election came to a close.
Keeping in view PM Modi’s arrival, security has been tightened near the shrine.
The portals of both the shrines were reopened for devotees after a six-month-long winter break.
59 parliamentary constituencies across 7 States and a Union Territory will go to polls in the last phase of the Lok Sabha elections on May 19. The results will be announced on May 23.
