PM Narendra Modi condemns terror attack on CRPF personnel in Pulwama, Kashmir

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday condemned the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district and said the entire nation should stand together with the families of the deceased.

PM Modi said, “Attack on CRPF personnel in Pulwama is despicable. I strongly condemn this dastardly attack. The sacrifices of our brave security personnel shall not go in vain. The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the families of the brave martyrs. May the injured recover quickly.”

Prime Minister Modi further added that he spoke to Home Minister Rajnath Singh to take stock of the situation in Kashmir.

“Spoke to Home Minister Rajnath Singh Ji and other top officials regarding the situation in the wake of the attack in Pulwama,” Modi tweeted.

Former Army chief and current Minister of State for the External Affair Gen (Retd) Vijay Kumar Singh said that “every drop of our soldiers’ blood will be avenged”.

At least 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel lost their lives and several others injured after terrorists targeted a convoy with a powerful explosive at Awantipora in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

The terrorists triggered the blast while the CRPF personnel were plying through the Srinagar-Jammu highway. There were also reports of firing upon the vehicles.

The Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
