Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met with his top ministers in his cabinet committee on security at his residence in Delhi after the Indian Air Force (IAF) carried out air strikes in Pakistan.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman were present at the meeting, apart from National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and other officials.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) today dropped around 1,000 kg bombs on Jaish-e-Mohammed terror camps across the Line of Control (LoC). The strike was carried out at around 3:30 am by 12 Mirage 2000 fighter jets.
Reports said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was briefed on the air strikes conducted by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wrote in his tweet: “I salute the bravery of Indian Air Force pilots who have made us proud…”.
Congress President Rahul Gandhi also took to his twitter account and tweeted, “I salute the pilots of the IAF.”
