Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held a roadshow in his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, a day ahead of filing his nomination paper.
Thousands of people lined up the narrow streets of Varanasi to get a glimpse of PM Modi.
Modi waved at the people on the roads from the sunroof of his SUV. He began his 7-km roadshow from the iconic Banaras Hindu University (BHU), where he paid tribute at a statue of Madan Mohan Malviya.
He was joined by top BJP leaders, including party president Amit Shah, chief minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Ministers and other senior BJP leaders.
The roadshow that began from the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) ended at the Dashashwamedh Ghat where Modi watched the Ganga aarti being performed.
On Friday he will file his nomination papers.
