Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday wished early recovery for his Russian counterpart Mikhail Mishustin who has been diagnosed with novel coronavirus.
“My best wishes to Russian PM Mishustin for early recovery and good health. We stand with our close friend Russia in efforts to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic,” PM Modi tweeted.
Mishustin on Thursday said that he tested positive for COVID-19 and had told President Vladimir Putin he would self-isolate.
First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov would temporarily perform Mishustin’s duties. However, the prime minister said he would stay in touch on key issues.
The novel coronavirus cases in Russia has crossed 1 lakh-mark, while over 1,000 people have lost their lives.
