Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday extended his greetings to the country on the occasion of 71st Republic Day.

On Republic Day eve, President Ram Nath Kovind addressed the nation and said, “along with Rights we also have the responsibility to always adhere to the central tenets of our democracy – justice, liberty, equality and fraternity.”
President Kovind praised people who have made exemplary contributions to various fields including science and innovation, sports, empowerment of Divyang persons, women and child empowerment, providing food and nutrition to the needy et al.
Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu greeted the nation on the eve of Republic Day. In a message to the people of India, he paid rich tributes to freedom fighters and called upon the citizens to further fortify the unity and integrity of nation so as to build an inclusive, prosperous, progressive and harmonious India.
“Let us pledge to faithfully discharge our constitutionally mandated Fundamental Duties and be responsible citizens who will be proactive partners in the nation’s development,” Naidu said.
