PM Modi was shooting film at Corbett when nation was mourning Pulwama attack: Congress

Congress party on Thursday hit out at the Centre over the Pulwama attack. The Congress accused Modi of shooting a documentary in the Corbett National Park on the day of the Pulwama terror and continuing filming even after news of the deadly attack emerged.

Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said, PM Modi continued shooting film at the Corbett after the news of killing of 40 CRPF jawans broke.

Addressing a press conference, Surjewala attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not giving the issue its due importance. “When the whole country was mourning the loss of lives of our jawans in Pulwam Attack in the afternoon, PM Narendra Modi was busy shooting for a film in Jim Corbett park till evening. Is there any PM in the world like this?” Surjewala said.

“The terror attack happened at 3:10 pm, but PM Modi was busy shooting for his promotional film till 6:40 pm,” Surjewala added.

Surjewala’s attack was based on media reports that claimed PM Modi was in Nainital shooting on February 14, after the news of Pulwama attack broke in afternoon.

Surjewala also slammed the BJP government of politicising the attacks, saying “Amit Shah politicised the soldiers’ martyrdom at a poll rally that the sacrifice of soldiers would not go waste as it was a BJP government in power and not Congress.

Congress said, they are bringing facts to public knowledge that how PM Modi insulted the memory of dead soldiers by shooting a film in Corbett National Park right after their death.

Earlier, the Congress had extended their support to the government in this time of trial.
