Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday thanked security forces for defeating terrorist plot of Jaish-e-Mohammad, targeted at grassroots level democratic exercises in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Neutralising of 4 terrorists belonging to Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed and the presence of large cache of weapons and explosives with them indicates that their efforts to wreak major havoc and destruction have once again been thwarted,” PM Modi tweeted.
“Our security forces have once again displayed utmost bravery and professionalism. Thanks to their alertness, they have defeated a nefarious plot to target grassroots level democratic exercises in Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
On Thursday, four terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Nagrota area of Jammu district.
The gunfight broke out near Ban toll plaza in Jammu’s Nagrota district after terrorists who were travelling in a truck stopped by security forces at check point.
According to the sources, the Pakistan-based terrorists were planning a big attack.
