Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid tribute to Manohar Parrikar, who died on Sunday after a long battle with cancer.
After arriving in Goa, Modi met Parrikar’s family at Kala Academy in Panaji where his body lay in state.
Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also paid last respects to the former defence minister.
“Smt @nsitharaman pays her last respects to Late Shri Manohar Parrikar in Goa,” Defence minister office tweeted.
Manohar Parrikar would be accorded a state funeral with full military honours.
