Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday offered prayers at Sree Krishna Temple in Guruvayur in Thrissur, Kerala.
He also performed the thulabharam ritual. The ritual is an important offering to Lord Krishna wherein a person is weighed against a commodity such as grains, fruits, flowers and similar articles and the equal value or quantity is offered as donation.
While doing a ritual Modi expressed it as a blessed moment.
“A blessed moment from the Guruvayur Temple,” Modi said in a tweet and he also shared a picture with it.
He also said, “The Guruvayur Temple is divine and magnificent. Prayed at this iconic Temple for the progress and prosperity of India.”
After ”darshan” at the temple, Modi will address a party meeting – Abhinandan Sabha
Modi arrived in Kochi, Kerala late Friday night where he was received by the Governor of Kerala Justice P. Sathasivam, Union Minister V Muraleedhara and other respected dignitaries.
This is his first visit to Kerala after getting re-elected as Prime Minister.
Security has been tightened around the temple town ahead of his visit.
