PM Modi meets Kashmiri Pandits, Sikh leaders in Houston ahead of mega event ‘Howdy Modi!’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi who arrived in Houston on Saturday met members of the Sikh community, Kashmiri Pandits as well as CEOs of the energy sector today ahead of his address at the grand “Howdy, Modi!” event where he will share the stage with US President Donald Trump.

“It is impossible to come to Houston and not talk energy! Had a wonderful interaction with leading energy sector CEOs. We discussed methods to harness opportunities in the energy sector. Also witnessed the signing of MoU between Tellurian and Petronet LNG,” PM Modi tweeted.

“Further energising India-USA friendship. Among the first engagements of PM @narendramodi in Houston is a meeting with CEOs from the energy sector. India and USA are looking to diversify cooperation in this sector,” PMO said in a tweet.

“Howdy Houston! PM @narendramodi arrived in #Houston. Over the next 24 hours, PM will meet with the industry captains in energy sector & address the Indian American community and their elected representatives at #HowdyModi event, together with @realDonaldTrump,” Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted.

PM Modi met members of the Dawoodi Bohra community and Sikh community. During the interaction with the members of the Sikh community, they congratulated PM Modi on some of the pathbreaking decisions taken by the Government of India.

He also met a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits, who unequivocally supported the steps being taken for the progress of India and empowerment of every Indian.

PM Modi will be addressing a mega event of Indian Americans at the NRG Football Stadium in Houston on Sunday. US President Donald Trump will also be joining PM Narendra Modi to address the first ever joint rally with an Indian Prime Minister.
