Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met Nobel Prize winner for Economics Abhijit Banerjee and said India is proud of his accomplishments.
Calling the meeting with Banerjee excellent, PM Modi said they had a healthy and extensive interaction on various subjects.
Modi further said Banerjee’s ‘passion towards human empowerment is clearly visible’.
“Excellent meeting with Nobel Laureate Abhijit Banerjee. His passion towards human empowerment is clearly visible. We had a healthy and extensive interaction on various subjects. India is proud of his accomplishments. Wishing him the very best for his future endeavours,” PM Modi said in a tweet.
Abhijit Banerjee, along with Esther Duflo and Michael Kremer won the 2019 Nobel Economics Prize for their experimental approach to alleviate global poverty.
