Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed grief at the loss of life caused by the building collapse in Raigad of Maharashtra.
He further said that local authorities and NDRF teams are providing all possible assistance at the site.
“Saddened by the building collapse in Mahad, Raigad in Maharashtra. My thoughts are with the families of those who lost their dear ones. I pray the injured recover soon. Local authorities and NDRF teams are at the site of the tragedy, providing all possible assistance,” Prime Minister’s Office tweeted.
On Monday evening, a five-storeyed building collapsed in Kajalpura area of Raigad district of Maharashtra.
At least two people have died, while several others are feared trapped. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) rescue teams are at the site and the rescue operation is still underway.
