The biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be released on May 24, a day after the results of the ongoing Lok Sabha election are declared, the makers of the film said.
“We come again fighting all the roadblocks & hurdles coming in our way! #PMNarendraModi now in cinemas from 24th May, stating that a biopic will affect the level playing field in the elections,” Producer Sandip Singh tweeted.
The Vivek Oberoi-starrer film was initially slated to release on April 11 but was stopped by the Election Commission (EC).
Shortly after the EC stalled the release of the film, makers of the biopic had moved the Supreme court challenging the ban.
However, the apex court refused to lift the ban and declined to interfere with the Election Commission’s order.
